One of Brenda's favorite ways to share life-changing knowledge is through retreats. Sometimes she organizes them; sometimes she's the featured speaker, and other times she is a breakout session leader.

As organizer, she had one this last spring!

In this quaint, old church located in an oak grove several miles from Brenda's home in east central Missouri, she led a Sabbath of Song.

A Sabbath of Song is a time of withdrawing to a serene place for worshiping God primarily through singing.

At this retreat on Mother's Day weekend, the group sang their mother's favorite songs and worship choruses. This is something Brenda has wanted to do since her mother died in August 2009. Her mother was a woman of faith to whom hymns meant a lot. This group sang some of her favorites plus the favorites of other mothers. They also had some time for personal prayer out under the oak trees and time for fellowship over lunch. It was a wonderful experience.

Brenda is now praying about what to organize next. She's thinking of doing an educational retreat on the Panoramic View of the Bible, perhaps in January as a good start to a year of meaningful Bible reading. Currently she's teaching the prayer life of Jesus at the First Baptist Church of St. Clair, Missouri, at 9:30 on Sunday mornings. This is a topic Brenda would like to turn into a retreat sometime. As a speaker, she's ready to work with you.
